Scarlet Poppies

When Ever I am down I paint poppies.. I dunnow why
I float away in my little world, let the troubles
drift away for a little while..

If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow

Roses Are Red ... Um no mine are Peach!

I have for some time wanted to paint Roses in Watercolours because I think watercolours lend it's self to the delicateness of the rose petals

I used salt to add texture to the background, I followed instruction of my tutor with regards to the darkness of the ground ground, Personally I don't like it but I did enjoy painting the roses and plan to paint some more roses again sometime

Nudes In Watercolour washes

I have been playing with these pen and wash nudes
these idea's are not my own but I feel I have put my style on them

I used salting effect too.

It's nice just to take an idea from someone else's work and play with it
Practise is the only way to find your on path...

This one I just drew free style and like it the most

This one ... I like so much I think I might have to do it
in Acrylics

This one I just hate but the reference image was wronge too!

Pentych Nudes finds a New Home

It was a great day yesterday when news came in via the art gallery that my
Pentych nudes have been sold!

I painted these five for my 2011 Solo Exhibtion they was also
displayed at the Saron Expo.

They took five months to paint and after much consideration
I decided to sell them to raise money for Macmillian Cancer Support

However these paintings come with a twist, when hung in the 30 day solo exhibtion
the display only lasted 4 days before complaints led to the display being taken down!

Then at a local weekend art show, complaints led to nudes being banned
from future shows, so it seems we are not out of the dark ages yet!

I hope the new purchaser enjoys the paintings as much as I enjoyed painting them
and happy in the knowledge that his investment will increase in value over the years and will
be making a difference...

Pastel In hand

It's been a while since I played with my pastels
I love there softness and how messy one can get with them!

These two I had started a while back but lost my way
today I picked them up again..

I like going back to half finished painting as really all the hard bit is done
it's in the final touches the magic starts...

I just want you to understand who I am because I may forget....

As a Fibromyalgia sufferer I do not want your sympathy, I just want you to understand who I am because I may forget.

Yesterday I may have been limping, today I may be skipping, tomorrow I may be having a sofa day.

... Yesterday I may have been on top of the world, today I may want to stay in doors, tomorrow I may not be able to get out of bed.

Although my pain is all over, yesterday my leg may have been hurting more than my arm, today its my head, tomorrow it may be my back.

Yesterday I was able to make a three course meal, today its a frozen meal, tomorrow its Jam and bread.

Yesterday I climbed a mountain, today I may manage a mile , tomorrow I may manage a smile.

Yesterday I may have been engaging in great conversation, today I may forget my words, tomorrow I may have forgotten we spoke.

It's not easy living with Fibromyalgia, even harder when others do not understand you!!
