This is a painting taking loosely from reference photos
but mostly from my head..

The glow from the sun warms the face and melts the soul
The cold of the snow relaxes its anger and greets the imagination.

I am not really a great spider lover, I am not really scared of them
but creepy crawlies are not my thing!

However I am fascinated by woodland spider webs and the way dew sits on them.
I have painted versions of this many times but this is my first attempt at a
bramble bush.

I love the contrasting background colour which gives a hint of light coming through the hedge
I could have put more leaves or berries in but then I felt this would distract from the
web which is the main subject.

 

 

This painting was snapped up by a collector in the USA before the paint was even dry!

They are very clever you know!
I have kept Game, Fancy, Bantam and Warren Hens
Usually always with a Glamorous Cock..
Really cockerels do nothing unless you want fertile eggs so if your going to feed one
it needs to be handsome, colourful and proud!

A Bonny Moon

A Bonny Moon

Be still, be quiet I can just see
a glimpse of  antler through the trees
by the moons glow it shines

He knows I am there, he sniffs the air
don't move, don't breath he might relax

 My heart stops but it's to late he is fleeing
by the thud of his hooves on the forest earth
the breaking of twigs as he passes so swift.

We shared a moment, a connection, a wood
A prize I will take instead of his blood.
