Felt Making For Christmas

Being a artist I am naturally drawn to creating things, I love baking, flower arranging, sewing, knitting, photography and many other things

However I have never tried my hand at felt design and crafting

Having been inspired but photos on the internet such as these you see here I thought this Christmas I would give it a go!!

When I first made these I thought I would just give them to family but someone said I should sell them, I have tried but had zero interest so I would say if your going to make these your

self, do them for pleasure!

 I purchased these little Tibetan silver made with love charms to
sew on my felt hangings

I also got these little wooden buttons for my other

creations again from ebay

Here is the stock image that inspired my painting as you can see I changed it a lot
because after sketching it out I didn't actually look at the photo again!

Pride

I have had this reference photo for some time but kept putting painting it off
It was rather dark photo and had to use a lot of artistic licence with it..

I have called it Pride, not only is this a celebration of the females body but her pride too!
I have left the right breast covered suggesting many things.......

 

Shielding her heart?
A missing breast from cancer treatment?
Reflection?

Half exposure?

I will let you make your own story up about this beautiful painting
But of course I do hold the story I associate with it.

Bite Of More Then You Can Chew

 

I have actually done 3 copies of this painting one on card, one on canvas and one in a book
The book I am making for my daughters Christmas present.

 

She has asked me to put all my hand me down phrases and idioms into a book with
illustrations I have started but some how I don't think it will be finished this Christmas!
