A new poppy painting

I do like painting poppies, I guess theres something about there colours & looseness
I like, I have painted them in watercolours, acrylics, pastels even palette knife

This one I did over 2/3 days any really enjoyed my self

Candy - Dog Portait Commission

I'd like to share with you a drawing with charcoal, graphite & sanguine chalk
of Candy, my dear friends dog that crossed the rainbow bridge earlier this year.
I have just finished it and got the thumbs up
I usually say no to do pet portrait's, I can't cope with the pressure because I feel it's very hard to capture the soul & character of an animal - I painted my own dog many times, I never manage to satisfy myself..
Anyway I did enjoy enjoy drawing Candy

My Lady Of Autumn

This painting was 3 years in the making!

Acrylics on Board

Sometimes a painting just will not come!
You have an idea but it just wont work - Originally she had black hair but I quickly changed it as I wanted her to have rainbow autumn colour hair but that didnt work.

This year I have really enjoyed the autumn colours and this inspired my painting
She came together beautifully

King of The Coop

King of the Coop

Something just for me!
I have been working on a lot of commissions lately
I don't mind it pays for me to do my own projects.

I treated my self to this lovely large quality canvas and
wanted just to play with my palette knives, not worrying too much about failure.

Using thick sharp sweeps, I built up several layers, to achieve the highly textured effect, I was hoping for. I worked on his comb & eye a little with the brush.

Unity I & II

Unity I & II
A story of love, death & friendship

Unity I was many years ago after the death of a dear friend, See...
http://supercosmicart.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/synergy-harmony-unity.html

Unity was sold via the Tetbury art gallery but the other two Harmony & Synergy
went to a friend in America, he always wish that he had the complete set.
One day I felt I could re-visit painting it again, much to my friend in America's delight!

I posted the photo on facebook and another friend saw it, begged me to paint it for her
I couldn't say no, so below is her version of the same painting!

Sorrowing

A friend asked me to paint the painting below
With tones of grey, blues, purples of poppies in a corn field
I haven't painted in a few weeks, I miss it but equally don't feel inspired
but I took the challenge painting Acrylics on canvas and thoroughly enjoyed it.

A Good Scratch

I love painting cow's!
However this one really challenged me!
maybe it was his colour 'White', the angle of his head or the curly of his coat?

I tried different techniques, colours, layer and styles

I am still not sure about this painting but many people have cast there eyes
over it and said it's nice the way it is....

Reference Photo of Bendigo at Dinefwr, That I took...

Sketched out canvasses
