Cameron - Highland Cow

Sketched out read to paint on a 60 x 50 cm Canvas

First lot of blocking in going on
- I forgot how much paint big canvasses take
but already starting to have the foundations of a great painting

Dry brushing the background
My goal to make it look misty & to keep Cameron
very much in the fore front.

I had put in about 9 hours at this point
happy with the bckground, put detail into the fending
now to make Cameron come to life

Finished in all his hairy, horniness!

Adore him!

A Cold Snap at the cottage

We have recently had a cold snap here in South Wales
it made me want to sit by the fire & draw a winter scene.
I used Charcoal, Chalk & a little Sanguine Chalk
On Pastel mat card.

Totally an imaginary farm cottage in the welsh valleys

Just before I added this finishing touches & Fixed it with spray

The finished drawing

A View Of Salisbury Cathedral

Having lived near Salisbury many years, I have to say I really adore salisbury cathedral
not so much up close & personal but from a distance across the water meadows
It spire often peaks out of the city haze.

Having never painted it before & this subject not my usual one
I thought I would give it a try

A stunning bright view of Salisbury Cathedral through a garden archway, on a crisp frosty morning.
Mist rising on the water meadows and the sun's golden light hitting the frost crisp grasses

Commission painting from reference photo

I love his cute eyes
I decided to use bright colours on this commission
In the hope it would bring out the joy & happiness that pigs hold.

I wasn't really happy with the plain right hand side so
I added some spring blossom

I

"Oink Oink"
