I love painting poppies, I love there colour and the way they
inspire so much emotion.
When I think of poppies, I remember the cornfields of home in the woodford valley
walking with my loyal dog in the late summer warmth.

All my adult life I wanted to visit Whitby & Whitby Abbey
in 2015 for my birthday my husband took me, the following year we returned staying
in Whitby Abbey House, I took many photos and sketches on both visits.
This painting of Snow day in Whitby is mostly imagination as both times I visited in the summer
but always thought Whitby would be magical in the snow

 Using just two colours this tonal artistic vision of Whitby with a flurry of snow, sure
makes you want to dive for the open fire and hot chocolate.
it stirs magical memories & happy times.

I like so many other people love sunflowers, there bright yellow petals
big sunny heads, they whisper summer time, happiness and friendship

This 2017 painting was painted using a 1/2" flat brush, big bold, sweeping brush strokes
in the hope of creating movement and lightness

Triptych Of Puffins

New for 2017

My first set of paintings
Although very much started in 2016

These cute 8x8" canvasses
painted this quirky little sea birds which are just such fun!

These were inspired by a trip to Skomer, South Wales

On my visit I took many photos and sketches



Canvasses after about 6 hours of work
Mostly blocking in but had started on the beaks & eyes
