Reviews!!

A New Dawn
Review by B.Wood
I spotted one of Supercosmic lovely painting for sale and I decided to buy it. it is very bright red and I thought it would go perfectly in my black white and red living room.
I asked her if I could buy it , Supercosmic sent me a paypal request promptly and couldn’t wait to send it to me I received my painting within a few days.
I was delighted with newdawn. The packaging was amazing, I don’t think it could be packaged any better it took a while to get in it!
The painting its self was a very dramatic red scene and had been framed so I could hang it straight up no need to have it framed or even add a string to the back it was ready to go. The painting its self was very well done it was easy to see the quality and knowing that it was unique I felt proud to own it. Supercosmic herself is a very accomplished artist and can paint very realistic paintings; I choose a scene painting myself and wasn’t at all disappointed with it.
Will be keeping my eye out for more of her art as I redecorate more rooms in my house I would love to own more and totally recommend anyone thinking of buying a painting, you will not be disappointed.

Before and After
Review By T.Sundholm

I picked the paintings because I just had to have them as soon as I saw them and knew they were for sale.
Rabbits in particular do have a personal meaning to me. They make me smile every time I look at them even if I'm feeling a bit down so they make me feel happy.
I've nothing to complain about the service I was given. I was very happy about it, I would would like to by some more, and have already been eyeing some... I would recommend supercosmic's Artwork to a friend.

Pastel Elephants ( Sold to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support)
Review by R.Mewes

I chose this particular painting for a few of reasons. Firstly, My girlfriend loves elephants and this particular painting was a wonderful image of a family of elephants. Secondly, The colours used in this picture were exactly what I was looking for in a focal point in a room with similar colours and themes. Thirdly, being a charity piece, It's a great feeling giving to such a worthy cause.

I loved the artwork. My girlfriend was thrilled. It has pride of place in the room it is hanging and I've had visitors comment on it to which I proudly announce it's one of a kind by an awesome artist.

The service was excellent, I cannot fault it. Once payment was sent, I was informed of a delivery date. It arrived early... It was carefully wrapped and handled.

Yes, I would buy from Supercosmic and I already have recommended her work to family and friends..

Lady Evangeline's Golden Tree

Acrylics on Canvas

Okay, I don't know what it is with me and tree's at the moment, I get great comfort painting them, I let
my mind wonder while I am painting the branches which take a bit of time!
I relax and think about life, people, hopes, dreams...

My Tree's are all female..  I never see them as a masculine object..
Why?.. Well..
They are hard on the outside and soft on the inside
They bare fruit
They can protect you but also swipe you with their wrath
They grow and evolve
They are beautiful

Gaiety Flare

I love horses but then I pretty much love all animals, it's come to my attention that most artist
are very fond of animals especially there companion animal
I rarely paint or draw horses, I spent my childhood like so many other girls
drawing and stetching horses so when I really started painting
I didn't want to touch them and apart from the odd one here and there
I have pretty much by passed the whole horse side of the animal kingdom

However today I finished this....

Some Lovely Feed Back

I got a e-mail today with some feedback, I am trying to clear out my studio room and convert it back into a bedroom
I no longer paint that much and doing so is causing a lot of pain not only psychically but mentally too

I know I am doing the right thing with this much to my friends objections, I am not letting my illness beat me I am merely accepting I no longer can paint and moving on to something I can do without pain.

I can't fight anymore I want to relax and enjoy what I am doing!

So I have been selling off some pieces at clearance prices, It's like a plaster if you tear it of quickly it hurts less and this is my plain with my artwork.

The E-mail read...

I am absolutely delighted with the Painting, you've really got a talent. I was also wondering if you will be selling the other items from your clearance and if so can you email me the details as I will definitely like to buy more.
By the way the Internet doesn't do your work Justice!!
Thanks and take care.
D

I love getting such lovely feedback and it confirms that art should be shared and enjoyed!

A nice way to start the day!

TEN Reasons you should buy hand crafted gifts this Christmas!

  1. You are buying a hand crafted item, painted / made by a real person.
  2. You get more choice as no two pieces are the same.
  3. Better quality, we are passionate about what we produce and tend to use the best quality materials as this reflects in our work
  4. Great value for money, hand crafted / painted items are usually realistically priced
  5. Lowering your carbon foot print, cutting out the middle man means less transportation
  6. Your item might increase in value or at least hold the same value.
  7. Your item will be original and thus you gift will be original, showing you have put some thought and effort in the gift.
  8. Keeping jobs and investing local community, the commercial shops already get enough of our money!
  9. Supporting home workers, These might be disabled or looking after someone disabled or a stay at home mum.
  10. Fulfilling the dream, we live to be creative and can only do this if someone buys the end product.

So when you start thinking Christmas shopping how about buying local, maybe going to a craft fair, looking on line at websites.. Think original be original!

Ebay is a good place to find original hand crafted items
Google searches with key words Original -  Hand Crafted . local made
Ask about, people are keen to recommend or better still, spread the word tell people about your recommendations
Social Media Sites, Twitter, Facebook, Blogger - We like to tell you what we are going!

So personally -

Synergy, Harmony, Unity

   All during the summer / autumn months of 2012, The art gallery in Tetbury have been running a competition for the title of artist of the year. {more Info}
The first stage of the competition is getting as many 'LIKES' as possible on your artwork via facebook and your on line gallery, at the end of this I was standing in first position in the Best Sellers Gallery. The next stage is to submit Three lots artworks for final exhibition in the Tetbury gallery during December. The winner and two highly commended artists to be chosen by a judging panel. The judges are asked to consider the following: Saleability: Originality: Quality of presentation: Artistic skill.

Having had a pretty awful year I was almost on the verge of pulling out of the competition because of health and financial issues, when news of a close friends death broke. I had known him and his family for over twenty years during time had become like family, pulling together through thick and thin. He was a man of the land, a legend in his own right, someone I can relate with as I too work with the land and nature, during the funeral a passage was read, which truly inspired me.

"But someone may ask, 'How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?' How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body." - 1 Corinthians 15:35-38

I returned home and began to paint these Three paintings solely to be exhibited in December at the Art Gallery, Tetbury

A couple of Mark II's

Wild Poppies II

Spider Spider II

I have been painting over old canvasses

I actually painted over an award winning painting the other day, did I feel bad?
Yes actually I did, well more sad that no one wants to buy my artwork
I am glad I have decided to give painting up, what is the point if so few people
appreciate what your producing or want something for nothing!
I guess many great artist felt like this but I am sure they must have been stronger willed then me!

Cerreg Cennen Castle - A Winters Night

It seems I am drawn to painting this castle at the moment, being local to me and I guess one of the most dramatic set castles in
Wales, I need no excuse to visit it in person however it's easier for me to visit it with my brush!

I love this place and I love painting it!

Something Different..

I have spent the last week trying to explore different subjects and techniques, I have been struggling with excruciating jaw pain and blinding headaches that leave my face swollen my left eye half closed and no ability to focus on anything other then the pulsing throb of my teeth. This is on top of all the other problems my illness brings.

However these three little pieces came out of my studio and I did very much enjoy doing them, I really like the horse one, His name is Toby he is a palomino Welsh cob stallion.

Lady Persephone's Tree

Lady Persephone's Tree
Acrylics on Large box Canvas.

A Few Weeks back I painted a canvas called Persephone, Although I adored her I could see she
would never be commerical and pretty much decided to paint over her the following day
However lot's of people begged me not to, so I offered her up for sale for the price of the canvas.
No one came forward, I knew I was right!
So Today I painted over her but using her colours and the pink sparkles!
I decided to name the tree after her!

After a what seemed like a eternal drought, two piece's of work have come out of my studio....

This piece I have called 'Please Cherry Top'
Three Small Boxed Canvasses with mixed media, highly textured
It has a shabby chic feel about it.

The name, comes from my friend's little girl who's says this instead of
Please with a cherry on top!
